Measure I Local Street Projects: San Bernardino Valley
Of the Measure I funds generated in the San Bernardino Valley, 19% of the revenue is returned to the cities for use on local road improvement projects. These include the widening of streets, the installation of traffic signals, road maintenance efforts, storm drain facilities, bridges, upgrades to meet American Disabilities Act standards and other projects related to local transportation.
City councils make decisions about the expenditure of Measure I funds using a five-year plan. Annual audits are conducted to ensure that Measure I revenue is spent according to plan.
