Traffic Analysis Zones (TAZs)
Traffic
Analysis Zones (TAZs) are areas for which socioeconomic factors (i.e.
population, housing, and employment) are portrayed for the purpose of
transportation modeling. TAZ systems are defined at the regional, subregional
and, in some cases, local levels.
SANBAG typically uses subregional Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) TAZs, which are the basis for subregion-scale transportation modeling. Local TAZs, used in more refined, local transportation models, may be used if the local model has been determined to be consistent with the subregional model. Subregional transportation modeling provides a basis for long-range planning, Congestion Management Program (CMP) analysis, and design of transportation projects.
CTPTAZ maps by Regional Statistical Area (RSA):
- Valley and Mountain Area (RSA 28,29, and 30)
- Victor Valley/High Desert Area (RSA 32 South)
- Barstow Area (RSA 32 North)
- Morongo Basin Area (RSA 33)
