Corridor/Sub-area Studies
SANBAG sponsors or participates in a range of regional and sub-regional
transportation planning studies. These are designed to assist agencies
in determining improvements that may be needed, either short term or
long term, to keep up with San Bernardino County’s growing transportation
requirements.
The studies usually have a particular geographic focus and are used to better define funding requirements and to refine project concepts for inclusion in the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP). The studies are typically multi-modal in nature, but also may emphasize particular modes of travel, such as trucks or transit. Most of the studies involve a collaborative effort of multiple jurisdictions, geared toward arriving at a consensus on a set of recommended improvements or strategies.
