Business Support Program
SANBAG recognizes that businesses can feel the crunch from freeway construction. SANBAG has established a Route 210 Business Support Program to provide information and marketing support to qualifying businesses whose access is directly impacted by freeway construction.
The program is designed to help maintain a “business as usual” environment during the construction period. Program elements include:
-
Signs – Street and site signs are posted to remind travelers that businesses are open during construction and to direct customers to retail and commercial centers near the construction area. All signs must comply with local ordinances.
-
Advertising – SANBAG will provide periodic advertising to remind patrons that local businesses will remain open during construction. Advertisements will explain street closures that may affect customer access to businesses. Ads will be placed in local newspapers to provide businesses with opportunities to market their products and services.
-
Coupons – Using direct mail or other distribution methods, SANBAG will provide merchant coupons for those businesses directly impacted by construction activity.
-
Notices – SANBAG will create and distribute construction notices to area neighborhoods to provide information about street detours, closures and other impacts to shopping centers.
