SANBAG awards construction contract
for I-10 Live Oak Canyon interchange in Yucaipa

Work will begin soon on construction interchange improvements at Live Oak Canyon Road and Interstate 10 in Yucaipa, following the approval of an $11.89 million contract with Riverside Construction by the San Bernardino Associated Governments Board of Directors yesterday.

The contract will cover the replacement of the current two-lane bridge with a new five-lane bridge. Eastbound and westbound ramps will be widened and realigned, traffic signals will be installed and the road between Calimesa Boulevard and Outer Highway South will be reconstructed. Work is expected to begin later this summer and last 18-24 months.

Riverside Construction was the lowest bidder from a field of seven firms and most recently has worked with SANBAG on construction of State Route 210 through Rialto.
The project is funded by the state’s Traffic Congestion Relief Program, developer fees and the City of Yucaipa, which advanced funds that will be repaid from
Measure I 2010-2040 revenue.
